Studying (Caesar x Clovis) Empty Studying (Caesar x Clovis)

Adjusting his glasses, Caesar sighed.
His arithmancy just wasn't coming to him... perhaps he had been focusing on the subject for too long.

Perhaps he should just change the subject for his homework think about potions...

Lazily he glanced up and his eyes focused on that blonde Slytherin who always irritated him. Always looking impeccable, with the girls fawning over him yet not giving a crap about that...

His enemy since day one.

Scowling at him he tried to focus back to his school work, but instead ended up glancing at the other, until just covertly staring with undisguised dislike.

Studying (Caesar x Clovis) Empty Re: Studying (Caesar x Clovis)

This was the one place that Clovis went to hide from everyone. Almost like his sanctuary. Seldom did anyone bother him at the library, and that was the way the Slytherin liked things to be. Calm, quiet, and alone.

Too bad he didn't take the time students usually studied at into account before coming down. Usually at this time though, he would be studying in his dorms; however, it was just that he needed a to borrow a book from the library for reference for the Runes paper that he was writing. Once he got to the library, he had found that it was full of students.

Bad timing. That was all he could blame it on. Bad timing.

Clovis never understood why people tried to talk to him. He never smiled, and he was never the 'friendly' type. If his suspicions were correct, then it wasn't his personality that attracted people. Gosh no, it was most likely the fact that he was not fully human. There was that darned Veela blood that ran through his veins. Sure it was a small percentage, but it was probably enough to deter people from their course of action.

Still, it was just a suspicion. A suspicion that he kept at the back of his mind, so it would not distract him from the school work he had at hand.

Advanced Runes Translation. That was the book he needed. The blonde carefully removed it from the shelf and flipped through it. Bingo. He grabbed the right one.

Not paying attention to where he was going to sit, the student pulled out a chair and sat down—right across from his long-time rival. What had caused him to hate the other, he would never know. He wouldn't bother to try and figure it out either, for it wasn't important.

It was just a dislike. Why pry into it any more than it has been pried into?

He nearly choked on his own saliva as the other sat down across from him.

Glancing at the book he smirked - he had just put that one back an hour ago. Probably working on the paper he had finished too..

It wasn't fair that the other had such great looks when he didn't even put them to use.. so irritating. Probably didnt even spend five minutes styling his hair either...

Feeling his mood turn away from school work entirely, he decided to annoy the other.

Sneakily he aimed his wand at the other... and silently uttered the spell causing the book to suddenly fall off the table onto the others foot.

Hiding his smirk he looked back to his book as if he hadn't done a darned thing.

Clovis didn't even notice the book had fallen off the table until it hit his foot, for he had been too busy trying to look for the parchment and quill that he needed to write the paper.

Once it did hit his foot, however, he let out a pained cry—much louder than the library permitted. He quickly calmed down though, once he remembered where he was. Hopefully no one heard him, but with that cry his hopes would just have to be hopes since half of the student filled library had made an irritated 'shush' sound towards him.

Grumbling, he bent down and picked up the book, not sure of what had happened until he was back up over the table. That was when he met the other's eyes.

Great. He sure picked a great place to study. Well, now he had a pretty good feeling of how the book managed to hit his foot, even if it was fairly deep on the table beforehand.

Clovis still had some manners in him, even if he did dislike the other male. He gave the other a slight nod of acknowledgement. "Caesar." He said calmly before flipping the book open and scanning the pages for important information.

Knowing better from the past, he shouldn't listen to Caesar, since there was a high chance that he would be sent on a goose chase. "Fifty seven?" He asked, flipping the pages slowly. No way in hell was he going to flip to the page right away. "What's important on there?" He asked, still taking his sweet, sweet time.

A part of him wanted to flip to the page just to see if it was anything that was worth reading; but no. He had the self control to work at his own speed. He will get there eventually. It bothered him, yes, but if it was just going to eat up his time then he would have played into Caesar's games.

He didn't want to play the Gyrffindor's games. Hell, he didn't even know why the other did so much to make an attempt to irritate him.

Oh well.

"It has some of the answers to todays homework," he responded with amusement. "Don't worry I didn't put itching powder into the pages this time.."

Although the time he had done that the results had been hilarious. Seeing the other begin to itch.. and then itch some more during the middle of class had pretty much had him in stitches. Brightened his class up considerably.

Clovis grimaced at the memory. It hadn't been one of the best classes for him. By the time the itching stopped, he had banged almost everything on top of them and rendered them useless for the week. During midterms too no less.

Cruel bastard.

Though Clovis had to give Caesar an applaud for that stunt as annoying as it was. It was more thought out than his other plans.

He would never admit it though.

At the moment, Clovis was nearing the page that Caesar had recommended, and so he flipped to it, still cautious. "... Thanks..." He mumbled when he found the page to be clean. There had to be something done to the page. There was no reason for Caesar to be nice to him after all.

What was it? Was it the wrong information, masked as the correct information? Or was it the answer page? Hard to tell, especially with the other looking at him.

Watching with amusement, Caesar pondered if he should be nice to the other more often... throw him off so to say.

"And no I didn't transfigure that one page for you so it would seem like it was the correct information..." he added.

Clovis nodded, looking at the page. He still didn't trust it. "... Then thanks..." He repeated.

He still didn't trust the page though, since he was SURE there was something wrong with it. He would just have to be extra careful about getting the answers now, that's all.

The others reaction was just too funny. Why would be booby trap a book that wasn't even certain to reach the intended target? Anyone could have taken that particular book...

Deciding to go on a little bit, he 'accidentally' rubbed his foot against the others leg as he 'shifted'.

He flipped through some pages in his Arithmancy text... usually when his mind stalled like this it meant he had to draw out the equations...

Dipping his quill in the ink, he began to focus on one of the problems, drawing it out in his own complex way, attempting to figure out why it was bothering him so...

Slowly a picture began to take shape, involving concentric circles touching each other in various manners, as if telling the answer for him.
Nibbling his lower lip his eyes lit up as he suddenly understood his assignment... it was almost like a garden feature...

Clovis jerked slightly, feeling a foot by his leg. He was never one for physical touches, so this was an unusual feeling to him (despite the fact that there had been many times where he had been accidentally touched).

He ignored it though, suspecting it to be just an accident. Instead, Clovis kept his attention on the translations. He tapped his foot lightly out of habit, not realising that he may lightly step on unsuspecting toes.

His thoughts were pulled out as his foot was lightly stepped on .. oh right.. bothering the other... teasingly he rubbed his foot against the others leg but in a more sensuous manner.

He peeked up slightly to see the others reaction... but still pretending to be working on his arithmancy

Clovis jerked his foot away again, twitching slightly. He wasn't sure who exactly was touching his leg due to the students around them, but he moved slightly to the side to avoid it. Darnit, he couldn't properly concentrate on his work, and so he didn't get what the page was saying.

The Slytherin furrowed his brows and reread the page, hoping that it would stick in his mind the second time around.

Disappointed by the others lack of reaction, Caesar decided to try something a little more risky... whispering a different spell he pretended to scratch his leg while actually aiming his wand at Clovis... the spell was a simple one... it caused the other to get jelly legs and a wedgy all at once.

Straightening up he returned his gaze back to his homework and with a flourish finished the problem off.

As Clovis tapped his foot, he felt his legs wobble. Because he was caught off-guard, the blond slumped slightly and almost slammed his chin on the table. Thankfully, his reaction time was quick for he saved himself a sore chin—at least he was saved until he felt the wedgy. That was when he collapsed fully, chin meeting the table and a loud swear was emitted.

This time, however, he knew exactly who the perpetrator was. Clovis pushed himself up and glared at Caesar, knowing too well that this combination of tricks was the other male. "... Very funny." He grumbled out, trying to keep his legs at bay. It was a shame that he had forgotten the counter-jinx, of all the times to forget that jinx. At least he was sitting, so he didn't fall flat on his face.

A slammed chin is better than a smushed face after all.

He grinned widely as he rolled up his parchments and set his things into his rucksack.

He looked around the library - it had gotten quite late and they were some of the last ones there. "Better watch out Clovis - the library is closing." came his quite response.

Standing up he stretched, letting out a happy sigh.

Clovis scowled, still trying to keep himself balanced. As he was doing so, he decided that he would have the perfect thing to deal with Caesar and his annoying reminders—well, his annoying voice in general would be better.

With one hand, he grabbed his wand which was tucked into his sleeve and muttered two simultaneous jinxes.

The first was Langlock, so the other's tongue would be stuck on the roof of the other's mouth; the second was the Leek Jinx, so the other would have leeks sprouting from his ears. Clovis could play the game that Caesar was playing, just he was nice enough to let the other one use his legs.

Now... How could he use his legs again?

Struck by the spells simutanously he let out a gargled sound as leeks uncomfortably sprouted from his ears.

He didn't know the anti jinx to remove the leeks from his ears - and it was hard to get rid of langlock with his tongue stuck in his mouth.

The other had gotten him good - he had to give the other credit.

With a silent sigh he walked over to the other and pushed his chair away from the desk and rather forcefully tipped the chair forward.

Clovis kept a close eye on what Caesar was doing, and when he was tilted to slam his face to the table, he found out. He glared at the other as he got back up. That wasn't very nice, but then again if Caesar was nice to him then he would have to be very suspicious of the other.

The blond tried to get up using the table as support, but his legs were far too wobbly to stay straight. He had to move with his legs all the while keeping his hands firmly on the table. "Are you done?" He asked. He knew full well that the other couldn't speak, but seeing the other struggle may make up for the fact that he was unable to walk and for the fact that his face was aching.

Clovis read what the other had written and narrowed his eyes. From past experience, he knew that he shouldn't trust Caesar.

"Give me the anti-jinx." He said curtly, not wanting to let the other off of his jinxes and then be stuck with jelly legs. That would be terrible.

Clovis groaned. "This will wear off soon." When he said that, he debated whether or not he should use another jinx on Caesar, but he decided against it.

He still thought hard about the counter-jinx though, just in case it came to him.
